About AärdCON

The Origins of AärdCON

Every great tale begins with a spark of madness, and for AärdCON, that spark came from the playful mind of Sean of Aärdnor Minis!

With over 40 years of D&D adventures under his belt, Sean dreamed of gathering kindred spirits from the worlds of fantasy and tabletop games. Memories of first edition AD&D GenCon ads fanned that spark into a flame, setting the stage for what would become AärdCON.

In 2023, the dream leapt off the page. Armed with a bold vision and a handful of dedicated allies, Sean set out to craft a grassroots gathering that stood apart from the corporate conventions. The result? A triumph born from passion, community, and love for fantastical worlds.

The First AärdCON: 2023’s Legendary Gathering

In just two short months, AärdCON 1.0 came to life, a feat worthy of legend! Vendors, attendees, and adventurers alike embraced its raw, authentic energy. There were no “big box” companies, just enthusiasts celebrating the heart of gaming and creativity.

Our goal was simple: bring people together and make sure everyone had a great time. What we didn’t expect was 225 adventurers showing up that day, smashing our expectations and proving that AärdCON was exactly what the community had been waiting for.

The Future of AärdCON

With the roaring success of the past three years, AärdCON has grown into something extraordinary, and we’re just getting started.

We’ve found a new home in the amazing Scandinavian Centre hall, offering incredible vibes and a true collaboration. Together, we’ll keep the fires of adventure blazing, building a gathering where stories, laughter, and imagination reign supreme.
