Every great tale begins with a spark of madness—and so it began with the foolish mind of Sean of Aärdnor Minis!

With over 40 years of D&D adventures under his belt, Sean often dreamed of gathering kindred spirits from the world of fantasy and tabletop games. The thought took root, nurtured by memories of the first edition AD&D GenCon ads, which sparked the flames of inspiration that would soon become AärdCON.

In 2023, the dream was realized. With nothing but a bold vision and a handful of dedicated allies, the decision was made to craft a “grassroots” gathering that would stand apart from the polished, corporate conventions.

The result? A triumphant success, born from passion and shared love for fantasy worlds!

The First AärdCON: 2023’s Legendary Gathering

In the span of just two short months, AärdCON 1.0 was brought to life—a feat worthy of legends! The excitement built quickly as vendors and attendees alike embraced the raw, authentic vibe of this gathering.

There were no “big box” companies here—just true enthusiasts, gathered to celebrate the heart of gaming and community.

Our humble goal was simple: to bring people together and ensure everyone had a good time. What we didn’t expect was 225 adventurers joining us that day, shattering our expectations and proving that this gathering was exactly what the community needed.
